The Flat Head Delraiser Horsehide Jacket

Leather motorcycle jackets are – and have always been – cool. Too cool, even, for a certain Rawr Denim writer to don. But that doesn’t forbid me one from gawking. Specifically, the Flat Head Delraiser Horsehide Jacket is one hell of a jacket and a worthy alternative to a Schott Perfecto.

Named after denim fan and comedian, Dean Delray, the Delraiser is made of a 1.3mm thick leather horsehide, the leather has a semi-aniline finish which is achieved through using a mixture of pigment and aniline. All the usual pockets and zippers are there including Flat Head’s own Uchi-Nuki buckle. Japanese for ‘hit and go,’ it’s a quick-fastening buckle made entirely of iron. And, underneath it all, you’ll find a cozy wool buffalo check lining.

It’s all made in Japan, including every bit of hardware, and, though it might cost you an arm and a leg at $1950, it’ll save your skin when you need it to.

Now available at Self Edge.
