Flying somewhat under the ever-expanding radar of the raw denim menswear world, Matias Sandoval of MATiAS Denim is no newcomer to the game. He’s quite the opposite, in fact, having developed a refined niche of “post-heritage” menswear that pulls equal inspiration from the past and the future. His latest release – the Surfari Twill Shirt, is right on par with an overall sleek look and some interesting subtle details.
The shirt features a banded collar backed with a twill trim finish, with real mother of pearl buttons throughout. The single front pocket is reminiscent of an early twentieth-century work shirt, with a modern MATiAS spin. These shirts aren’t cheap, but they are made in super limited runs in the USA.
